About the role
We're looking for Chefs and Cooks to join our Tracks Cafe team in Queenstown for the 2026–27 season. You'll prepare and serve high-quality café-style meals, catering and on-train food service, working alongside our BOH Supervisor and Food & Beverage Manager to deliver consistent results during busy service periods.
What you'll be doing
- Preparing and cooking menu items to a consistent standard and on time
- Food preparation, portioning and mise en place for service and catering orders
- Following food safety, allergen and hygiene procedures, including temperature logs and labelling
- Stock rotation, ordering support and assisting with monthly stocktakes
- Keeping the kitchen clean, safe and organised
- Contributing ideas for specials and seasonal menu items
About you
- Previous experience as a Cook or Chef in a café, restaurant or high-volume kitchen
- Trade qualification (Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery) highly regarded, but experience counts too
- A sound working knowledge of food safety and allergen management
- Calm under pressure, well organised and a genuine team player
- Available to work a rotating roster including weekends and public holidays across the season
- Current Food Safety Supervisor certificate (desirable)
- Current driver's licence (desirable)
