Position summary

Selection criteria

Essential

- Degree or equivalent approved qualification in Physiotherapy and registration with Australian HealthPractitioner Regulation Agency.
- Previous experience working as a Physiotherapist in community, acute and age care settings.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Highly developed time management and organisational skills.
- Robust commitment to principals of enhancing independence and client empowerment.
- Current Driver's Licence.
- Current Police Check.

Desirable

- Experience in Rural health.
- Membership of appropriate professional association.
- An ability to facilitate exchange of ideas and development of relationships across service,



sectoral andorganisational boundaries.
- Experience in community work including well-developed facilitation. Interpersonal, problem solvingnegotiation and resolution skills.

Key responsibilities

- Provision of physiotherapy service to acute, residential aged care and community clients of all ages in Ouyenand Sea Lake.
- Clinical services are generalist in nature and may require collaboration with specialist and regional healthservices.
- Physiotherapy interventions may be individual, or group based as well as involvement with health promotionactivities including exercise groups and hydrotherapy programs.
- Working with colleagues in a multi-disciplinary team to achieve best possible client outcomes.
- Work collaboratively with service providers, key organisations, community groups and consumers to developand improve primary health care services.
- To implement flexible, innovative and holistic services to meet community needs.
- Actively participate in professional development including attendance at seminars and other learning anddevelopment opportunities.
- Keep up to date with developments, legislation and regulations relevant to the requirements of the position.
- Supervise, mentor and be responsible for appropriate delegation of tasks to Allied Health Assistants withintheir scope of practice.
- Complete statistics and monthly reporting requirements of the role.
- Other duties as directed.

Section 21 of the Occupational Health & Safety Act 2004, requires an Employer to provide and maintain, so far as is reasonable and practicable, a safe workplace for all employees and ensure that no employee is placed at risk of injury while performingthe duties and responsibilities required by their position.

To comply with this obligation, MTHCS requires all candidates/employees to have the mental and physical capacity to safely perform the inherent requirements of the position they are applying for (or have been appointed to).

If a risk is identified and fitness to safely perform the duties of the position needs to be determined, MTHCS with the agreement of the candidate/employee, will arrange an independent medical assessment to determine capacity to safely perform the inherentrequirements of the position to minimise the risk of injury or aggravation of any pre-existing condition the candidate/employee may have.
