About the Role

The Inclusive Education Assistant assists teachers in preparing resources and implementing teacher-planned education programs. The role supports a positive and inclusive learning environment in which students with additional learning needs can participate in the secondary curriculum and work towards their learning, social and personal outcomes. It promotes student independence, confidence and the skills required to become lifelong learners who are Christ-centred and innovative contributors to their world.

You will have:

- Active Christian faith and commitment to the College’s Christian identity and Core Values
- Certificate III in School-Based Education Support or equivalent
- Experience supporting Secondary students, particularly those with additional learning needs
- Understanding of inclusive education practices and student independence
- Commitment to child safety, well-being, and safeguarding practices




- Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to build positive student relationships

Key Responsibilities:

- Student Learning & Curriculum SupportSupport students in accessing the secondary curriculum through agreed learning strategies, adjustments, and resources as directed by teachers and the IE Team.
- Individual & Small Group SupportProvide targeted support that develops students’ academic, social and organisational skills while promoting independence.
- Inclusive Education & Individual PlansAssist with the implementation of agreed Individual Education Plans, personalised programs, reasonable adjustments and behaviour support strategies.
- Classroom & Learning SupportWork alongside teachers to create positive, inclusive learning environments across classrooms and College activities.
- Student Wellbeing & EngagementBuild positive relationships with students and encourage participation, positive behaviour and engagement.
- Collaboration & CommunicationWork collaboratively with teachers, the Inclusive Education Team and other staff, sharing relevant observations and information as directed.
- Resources & AdministrationAssist with preparing learning resources, activities and other tasks that support student learning.
- Professional Conduct & Duty of CareMaintain confidentiality,



professional boundaries and appropriate supervision while following College policies, child-safety requirements and duty of care responsibilities.
- College Community & Christian ValuesModel the College’s Christian identity and Core Values and contribute positively to the wider College community.

Qualifications and Requirements:

- Certificate III in School-Based Education Support, or an approved equivalent
- Certificate IV in School-Based Education Support, or equivalent higher qualification - desirable but not essential.
- Current Working With Children Card.
- Current Police Clearance (issued in the last 3 months)
- You must have the right to live and work in Australia (VEVO checks will be conducted)
