SESLHD’s Sexual Health and Blood Borne Virus Services (SHBBV) provides leadership, innovation and research in the sector. Services within SHBBV are involved in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of Sexually Transmissible Infections (STIs) and blood borne viruses at an individual and population level within SESLHD, as well as four statewide services.

Across these services, care is provided via fixed locations and outreach networks to a client base of approximately 28,000 individuals. SHBBV has highly skilled and diverse staff including nursing, medical, allied health, health promotion, administrative and technical staff. It is the largest SHBBV service in Australia.

The role is primarily based at the Albion Centre. The Albion is one of three facilities within the Sexual Health clinical services which also includes Sydney Sexual Heatlh Centre and Short St Centre. A key focus of the position is to provide high-level administrative and clerical support to enable the sexual health services to achieve their objectives efficiently.

This includes managing the Albion and Short St Centre reception team and overseeing medical records, both essential to client service delivery and clinic management.

The role also involves regular front desk duties, interacting directly with clients, requiring strong customer service and communication skills to maintain a welcoming, professional setting and ensure effective client engagement.



The role will work in collaboration with the Senior Administration Support Officer from Sydney Sexual Health Centre to ensure a streamlined approach to reception functions and staffing across all three sites. Cross site support and travel may be required where necessary.

Selection Criteria

- Ability to perform a wide range of administrative tasks, while managing competing work priorities and workflow within allocated resources.
- Experience in managing a team of staff, including performance reviews, supervision and training.
- High level interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated initiative and strong decision-making skills with the ability to analyse problems and implement effective and creative solutions.
- Ability to work independently and with a demonstrated capacity for effective and collaborative teamwork.
- Demonstrated proficiency in the use of computers and a variety of software applications, especially Microsoft Word and data bases, PowerPoint, Excel as well as My Health Learning, ROB, IIMS and iProcurement.
- Capacity to problem solve, take minutes, organise and facilitate meetings and show initiative in responding to and assisting with administrative requests from team/stream leaders.
