We are currently seeking Senior API Automation Test Analysts to join a large-scale Australian Government ICT environment on an initial 12-month contract, with a further 12-month extension available.

This is a senior testing role with a strong focus on API, integration and backend testing, working across complex ICT delivery teams to ensure services and integrations are reliable, secure and meet technical and business requirements.

Key responsibilities include:

- Design and execute test approaches, scenarios and test cases for APIs, integration services and backend systems.
- Perform functional, integration, regression, end-to-end and negative testing.
- Develop and maintain automated API test suites and reusable testing frameworks.
- Test RESTful APIs, including requests, responses, data, authentication, error handling and integration behaviour.
- Analyse API specifications, solution designs, user stories and acceptance criteria to determine testing scope and coverage.
- Identify, investigate, document and track defects through to resolution.
- Support the integration of automated API testing into CI/CD pipelines.
- Analyse test results and quality metrics to identify risks and areas requiring further assurance.
- Contribute to test planning, estimation, risk assessment and reporting.
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to other testers and delivery team members where required.





You will have solid experience in:

- API, integration and backend testing within complex ICT environments.
- Designing and implementing automated API testing using contemporary tools and frameworks.
- RESTful API testing, including authentication, data validation, error handling and integration behaviour.
- Functional, integration, regression, end-to-end and negative testing.
- Translating complex technical requirements and API specifications into comprehensive testing approaches.
- Troubleshooting complex defects and working closely with developers, architects and multidisciplinary ICT teams.

Experience with Postman, REST Assured, SoapUI or comparable API testing technologies will be highly regarded.

Experience with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps environments, performance/security/resilience testing or large Australian Government ICT programs will also be advantageous.
