The Company Our client is a large Federal Government organisation delivering nationally significant digital services that improve outcomes for Australians. Working within complex ICT environments, the organisation invests heavily in modern delivery practices, innovation and quality engineering to support critical business services and system integrations. The Role An exciting opportunity exists for two Senior API Automation Test Analysts (EL1 equivalent) to join a multidisciplinary ICT delivery team.

You will provide specialist testing and quality assurance expertise across complex programs and projects, focusing on API, integration and backend services. The role will be responsible for designing and executing comprehensive testing approaches, developing automation frameworks and ensuring solutions are secure, reliable and aligned to business and technical requirements.

Responsibilities





- Design and execute API, integration and backend testing strategies, scenarios and test cases
- Perform functional, integration, regression, end-to-end and negative testing activities
- Develop, maintain and enhance automated API test frameworks and reusable test assets
- Validate API requests, responses, authentication, business rules, data structures and error handling
- Test RESTful APIs and integration services using contemporary testing tools and methodologies
- Analyse technical requirements, API specifications and solution designs to determine testing coverage
- Collaborate with developers, architects and technical stakeholders to identify and resolve complex defects
- Track, manage and report defects through to successful resolution
- Support automated testing integration within CI/CD pipelines and DevOps environments
- Contribute to test planning, estimation, reporting, risk assessments and quality assurance governance
- Analyse testing outcomes and quality metrics to identify trends and emerging risks
- Mentor team members and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across quality engineering practices

What Our Client Requires

Essential Experience

- Extensive experience testing APIs,



integration services and backend systems within complex ICT environments
- Strong experience designing and implementing automated API testing frameworks
- Proven experience testing RESTful APIs including authentication, validation, error handling and integration behaviour
- Strong understanding of software testing principles across functional, integration, regression, end-to-end and negative testing
- Ability to analyse complex technical requirements and translate them into comprehensive testing strategies
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, communication and stakeholder engagement skills

Highly Regarded

- Experience with Postman, REST Assured, SoapUI or similar API testing technologies
- Experience integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines and DevOps environments
- Experience performing API performance, resilience or security testing
- Experience delivering within large-scale Australian Government ICT programs
