About The Company

Our client is a well-established boutique law firm with over 15 years' experience, based in Docklands, Melbourne. Their disputes practice focuses on commercial and civil litigation, and as the practice grows, they're seeking an experienced litigator to build and lead their own team.

About The Opportunity

The primary purpose of this position is to independently run a commercial and civil litigation caseload from initial instructions through to resolution. This includes appearing as advocate in the Magistrates', County and Supreme Courts and VCAT.

Reporting directly to the Principal Solicitor, some of your responsibilities will include:

- Running a diverse caseload across contractual, corporate, insolvency and property disputes

- Appearing as advocate in directions hearings, interlocutory applications and mediations

- Drafting pleadings, affidavits, submissions and advices to a high standard





- Acting as primary client contact and developing new referral relationships

- Supervising, training and developing junior lawyers, graduates and paralegals

About You

The successful candidate will have:

- Admission to practice in Victoria with a current practising certificate

- Approximately 8–10+ years' PQE, substantially in commercial and civil litigation

- Demonstrated advocacy experience in the Magistrates', County and Supreme Courts and VCAT

- Proven ability to run a caseload autonomously with strong drafting and negotiation skills

- Sound commercial judgement and confidence holding client relationships directly
