Cleverain is partnering with a progressive regional organisation undergoing significant growth and transformation to appoint a Senior Billing & Accounts Receivable Officer . Based in the Northern Rivers of NSW , this is an opportunity to join an organisation delivering essential services to a growing community, with significant investment and development underway across the region.

This role does not require local government experience. If you've built strong experience in billing, accounts receivable, revenue, collections or utilities , this could be an opportunity to take those skills into a new environment, learn a specialist area and build your career.

The Role

Working within the organisation's rates and revenue function, you'll be involved in:

- High-volume billing and transaction processing
- Accounts receivable and revenue administration
- Reconciliations, data validation and maintaining account accuracy
- Investigating billing discrepancies and complex account issues
- Customer enquiries and issue resolution
- Debt recovery, collections and payment arrangements
- Working within relevant policies, procedures and legislative requirements
- Managing competing priorities and peak billing periods
- Identifying opportunities to improve processes and service delivery

What We're Looking For We're looking for someone who is customer-focused,



detail-oriented and naturally investigative . You'll be comfortable working across financial or billing systems, able to manage competing de adlines without compromising accuracy, and willing to dig into an issue when something doesn't look right.Just as importantly, you'll be professional, approachable, curious and open to change . This team wants someone who will contribute positively, ask questions and genuinely want to learn and grow.

Previous local government or rates experience is not essential. Candidates from utilities, energy, property, telecommunications, financial services and other complex billing environments are encouraged to apply. The technical aspects of rates can be taught. We're looking for someone with the fundamentals, aptitude and attitude to learn them .
