About the Role

Our client is seeking an accomplished Transportation Manager to lead their transportation operations, working in a fully remote capacity. This strategic role will involve overseeing all aspects of the company's freight movement, including carrier selection, negotiation, performance management, and route optimization. You will be responsible for developing and implementing efficient transportation strategies that reduce costs while ensuring timely and reliable deliveries. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in transportation logistics, a strong understanding of market dynamics, and the ability to manage complex operations remotely.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and execute comprehensive transportation strategies to meet business objectives and service level agreements.
- Manage and build strong relationships with carriers, negotiating contracts and rates to achieve cost savings and service improvements.
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the transportation department, ensuring efficient load planning, dispatch, and tracking.
- Monitor carrier performance, implement scorecards, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.




- Ensure compliance with all transportation regulations, safety standards, and company policies.
- Analyze transportation data to identify trends, opportunities for optimization, and cost-saving measures.

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in transportation management, including fleet operations and third-party logistics (3PL).
- Proven experience in carrier negotiation, contract management, and freight auditing.
- Solid knowledge of transportation management systems (TMS) and relevant software.
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively remotely.
