Our Tier 1 Mining Client is seeking an experienced Senior Contracts & Procurement Specialist to support a major resources project based in Perth.

Roster: 5/2 Perth CBD

Start date: November 2026

Duration: approx. 12 months - with potential to extend

Pay Rate: $90.00 - $95.00 p/h + Super depending on experience

The Role This is a senior commercial role supporting end-to-end contracting and procurement activities, with a focus on construction works and services, capital procurement, and pre- and post-award contract management.

You will play a key role in shaping contracting strategies, managing commercial risk, leading tender processes and delivering strong commercial outcomes across multiple project work packages.

Working closely with engineering, project controls, legal, delivery teams and external contractors, you will provide commercial expertise throughout the project lifecycle, from procurement strategy and tendering through to contract administration, claims and close-out.

Key Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To

- Provide input into contracting and procurement strategies, including advice on packaging, delivery models, interface risks, resource requirements and market capability.
- Lead the development, coordination, evaluation and execution of tender packages for construction contracts, equipment and services.
- Lead negotiations of contract terms and pricing to support project schedules, budgets and appropriate commercial risk profiles.
- Prepare and review clear,



structured contract documentation, including terms and pricing schedules.
- Prepare and manage contract award recommendations and supporting documentation for internal approvals and execution.
- Manage contracts post-award, including performance and relationship management, contract administration, claims, payment assessments, correspondence and close-out.
- Identify, assess and manage commercial and contractual risks across pre-contract and delivery phases.
- Work with technical, legal and project stakeholders to develop practical risk mitigation strategies.
- Identify and drive cost-saving and value opportunities through competitive sourcing, negotiation and effective contract management.
- Manage multiple contract packages across different project phases while maintaining strong governance and attention to detail.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, contractors and suppliers across multiple work packages.

Required Experience

- Minimum 10 years' experience in project contracting and procurement within mining, infrastructure, oil and gas or similar project environments.
- Experience across construction-related work packages, ideally including Civils, NPI, SMP and/or EIC.
- A tertiary qualification in Law, Commerce, Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.




- Demonstrated experience managing multiple contract packages across different project phases.
- Strong capability in contract negotiation, administration and claims management.
- Sound understanding of project delivery models, construction contracts and commercial risk allocation.
- Proven ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced project environment with competing priorities.
- Solid commercial judgement, attention to detail and ability to produce accurate, commercially sound documentation.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work effectively across engineering, legal, project controls and delivery teams.
- A proactive, accountable and outcome-focused approach with the ability to work independently and contribute to high-performing teams.
