One of our Federal Government Clients is seeking to engage a Senior Cyber Security Advisor / Security Assessor - EL1

1. Contract Duration: 02 Years (12 Months initially + 12 Months extension)
2. Work Location: Only Canberra
3. Work Arrangement: Purely Onsite - 5 Days week
4. Eligibility: You must need to have NV1 Security Clearance or above.
5. Tentative Start Date: 15th March 2027
6. Working Hours: 8 hours a day/ 40 hours a week

Overview: Lead Cyber Advisors provide ICT security advice and assistance through the delivery of cyber security assessment and assurance services.

Key duties and responsibilities:

ASD requires an EL 1 equivalent Cyber Advisor (IRAP Assessor) to conduct the cyber security assessment of complex IT systems to identify, evaluate and manage cyber security risks. They will provide expert advice, support risk-based decision-making, and helps ensure systems meet security requirements throughout their lifecycle.

The Lead Cyber Advisor will perform the following duties and responsibilities:

- Lead cyber security assessments for complex systems and projects.
- Conduct risk assessments, threat modelling, business impact analysis and control reviews.
- Analyse system architectures,



configurations and evidence to identify vulnerabilities and security gaps.
- Assess residual risk and recommend appropriate mitigation strategies.
- Prepare security assessment reports, briefings and decision records.
- Provide expert advice to stakeholders and mentor cyber security practitioners.
- Contribute to the improvement of security policies, assessment methods, tools and reporting standards.

Essential Criteria

1. Minimum 5 years’ demonstrated experience conducting entity assessments in a Cyber role.
2. Demonstrated robust technical knowledge of ICT systems, architectures, and security controls.
3. Demonstrated excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
4. Demonstrated understanding of the role of an IRAP Assessor and relevant security policies and frameworks.

Desirable Criteria:

1. ASD endorsed IRAP Assessor.
2. Other relevant industry recognised cloud and cyber security certifications
