Primary objective
Provide specialist digital content advice and web services to Northern Territory Government (NTG) agencies to support accessible,
accurate and standards-compliant digital content across government websites.
Context statement The Web Services unit supports NTG agencies to create and maintain a high-quality online presence, that meets national standards,
supports clear communication and delivers a strong user experience.
Key duties and responsibilities
1.
Provide specialist advice to agencies on digital content structure, accessibility, search engine optimisation and contemporary web
standards to support effective, user-focused online services.
1. Lead the review, development and optimisation of web content, using data, analytics and user insights to improve quality, accuracy
and findability across government websites.
1. Support client agencies in adopting web standards and best practice for developing person-centred content.
2. Work in partnership with agencies, subject matter experts and stakeholders to plan, coordinate and deliver digital content updates
and initiatives, including the timely publishing of website requests.
1. Project manage activities related with onboarding new or offboarding end-of-life websites.
2. Contribute to the strategic objectives of the Web Services unit by sharing expertise, supporting continuous improvement and working
collaboratively to deliver consistent, high-quality services.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Demonstrated knowledge of user-centred digital content design, including accessibility, information architecture, plain language, and
content standards.

Robust understanding of website publishing and search engine optimisation best practice.
2. Well-developed interpersonal and influencing skills with a positive approach to engaging and collaborating with team members,
colleagues and clients to deliver successful outcomes.
1. Highly developed digital literacy with the ability to quickly learn, adapt to and effectively use web platforms, tools and technologies.
2. Proven ability to plan, coordinate and deliver high-quality initiatives that meet client requirements, user needs and agreed standards.
3. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use evidence, data and user insights to inform content decisions and
practical solutions.

Desirable
1. Qualifications in relevant discipline, e.g. Journalism, Communication Design or equivalent.
2. Experience using web platforms or products including content management systems (Squiz Matrix, Drupal), governance (Monsido,
SiteImprove), user research tools (Optimal Workshop) and analytics (Google Analytics).
