Senior Environmental Advisor - Remediation | Perth | Contract A leading Western Australian energy business is looking for a Senior Environmental Advisor to support its contaminated sites and remediation program. As parts of the generation fleet transition, there's serious environmental work to be done: assessing, remediating and responsibly closing out contaminated sites, and shaping how waste from those activities is managed for the long term.

You'll join the Health, Safety and Environment team and report to the Remediation Lead. There are no direct reports, so it's very much a hands-on advisory role with real influence.

What you'll be doing Providing expert advice on contaminated sites assessment and remediation, with an eye on outcomes that are both cost-effective and genuinely sustainable. You'll help deliver the client's five-year contaminated sites plan and make sure investigation and remediation work through site rehabilitation stays compliant with the Contaminated Sites Act 2003 and current guidelines.

Day to day, that covers a broad mix:

- Advising internal stakeholders on the management of contaminated sites and waste, and contributing to the client's HSE policies, strategies and performance standards
- Preparing tender documents, reviewing contractor submissions, and contributing to the review of contractor documentation and consultant reports
- Preparing and updating documents and delivering presentations to internal and external stakeholders
- Managing material reuse generated during demolition, and supporting adherence to the Waste Avoidance and Resource Recovery Strategy 2030
- Advising the wider business on waste classification and management options
- Supporting the reporting of HSE incidents to regulatory agencies where required




- Ensuring Environmental Management Plans for remediation projects meet legal and corporate requirements, and providing input into environmental risk assessments
- Providing guidance on contaminated sites and waste management to staff and contractors
- Conducting environmental audits to validate compliance with project Environmental Management Plans

You'll build solid relationships across the business (thermal generation, projects, plant transition and HSE teams) and externally with regulators, consultants, contractors and industry bodies.

What you'll bring

- 5 to 10 years designing and delivering contaminated sites investigations and remediation works
- A tertiary qualification in environmental management or a physical science
- Up-to-date knowledge of all relevant WA legal and regulatory environmental requirements
- Advanced report writing, research, interpersonal and communication skills
- Proven proficiency in risk assessment and management
- Knowledge of environmental management and impact mitigation methodologies relevant to energy generation, linear infrastructure, industrial processes and renewable energy
- Solid experience with stakeholder consultation, and the ability to liaise and influence at all levels on site
- Extensive experience with environmental management systems, monitoring and compliance

Any of the following would be well regarded: risk assessment, environmental approvals, water quality monitoring, closure planning, and contract management. Rate From $90 per hour plus super, depending on experience.
