We are seeking an experienced Principal Geotechnical Engineer to join our growing Geotechnical team and play a key leadership role in the continued development of our business.

This is an opportunity for a highly experienced geotechnical professional to combine technical leadership, project delivery, client relationships and business development, while mentoring a team and helping shape the future direction of our Geotechnical Group.

About the role

Reporting to the General Manager, you will provide senior technical and strategic leadership across a diverse range of geotechnical engineering projects. Key responsibilities

Provide technical leadership and oversight across geotechnical investigations, analysis, design and reporting

Lead complex geotechnical investigation projects from planning through to delivery

Provide expert technical advice and innovative engineering solutions to clients and project teams

Review and approve geotechnical reports, designs and technical documentation

Manage projects from small through to large scale, including budgets, schedules, field personnel and client liaison

Coordinate field investigations, laboratory testing and subcontractors

Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to a high standard

Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients

Prepare fee proposals, tender submissions and technical presentations





Mentor and develop geotechnical engineers and support the growth of the Geotechnical Group

About you

Bachelor of Engineering (Civil or Geotechnical Engineering) or equivalent recognised qualification

10–15+ years' experience in geotechnical consulting, with extensive Australian experience

Chartered Skilled Engineer (CPEng) status or eligibility

RPEQ, NER or equivalent registration, or be working towards registration

Strong project management and technical report writing skills

Proven client relationship and business development experience

Excellent communication, leadership and mentoring skills

Current Australian Driver Licence
