About the role

This is a diverse and hands-on role. You will be required to execute efficient, accurate and timely processing of transactions ensuring we meet our financial compliance and reporting standards.

Being detail orientated and having an analytical mind to problem solve is a must as the Senior Finance Officer provides varied accounting and financial support, contributing significantly to ensuring the smooth operation of the company, consistent with our Vision and Values.

What you'll be doing

- High level oversight and processing of payroll (including termination payments, employee reimbursements, superannuation and PAYGW)




- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable activities, maintaining strong financial controls and ensuring the accurate and timely processing of transactions.
- Coordinate and oversee the reconciliation of bank accounts, corporate card statements, and cash floats, ensuring accurate financial records and adherence to organisational policies and procedures.
- Process relevant accounting entries to support accurate and timely periodic internal financial reporting.
- Process and maintain asset register (financial) transactions as directed by Finance and Corporate Services Manager
- Assisting the Finance and Corporate Services Manager with managing periodical acquittal reports to funding bodies
- General accounting support to the Finance and Corporate Services Manager and CFO as required.
- Provide technical accounting support and mentoring to junior finance team members, promoting efficient workflow management, timely delivery of deadlines, and strong financial data integrity.
- Ad-hoc project-based support in collaboration with Finance and Corporate Services Manager, CFO and Systems team
- Ensure efficient processing of transactions whilst ensuring a high level of accuracy and compliance with technical requirements.
- Providing the Finance and Corporate Services Manager with informed feedback on team performance and workflow efficiency, identifying improvement opportunities, and recommending practical solutions to enhance outcomes.




- Maintain financial transactions and provide support to the Property Manager and CFO with companywide tenancy arrangements (residential and commercial) – financial functions

About You

You’re someone who

- Builds strong, respectful relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities
- Brings 5 years experience in a similar role
- Is passionate about making a positive impact and supporting others with heart and purpose

Selection criteria

- Extensive experience using accounting software and MS Office suite.
- Minimum Cert IV in Accounting / Bookkeeping
- Demonstrated previous experience in a similar hands-on role (minimum 5 years) – specifically the ability to problem solve; innovate; and act as a technical lead across the finance team.
- Attention to detail and ability to multitask whilst maintaining a high level of quality.

Requirements

- National police check
- Current drivers' license (minimum Ps).
