Senior Geophysical Technician – Supervisor (Australia)

Planetary Geophysics Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Geophysical Technician to join our team on projects across a range of locations throughout Australia.

The role will involve field-based data acquisition across multiple geophysical survey methods, including Magnetics, IP/Resistivity, EM, Gravity, and MT.

Key Responsibilities:

- Acquisition and quality control of geophysical data across multiple survey types
- Operation and routine maintenance of geophysical instrumentation
- Working in remote and challenging field environments
- Adhering to company Health, Safety and Workplace (HSE) systems and procedures
- Essential Experience & Qualifications
- Minimum 7 years’ experience in exploration geophysics
- Demonstrated experience operating and maintaining geophysical equipment
- Strong field experience in demanding and remote climates
- Ability to work both independently and within a team,



including leading crews of up to 10 geophysicists and technicians
- Willingness to work away from home for extended periods (3+ weeks)
- Physically fit and able to meet pre-employment medical and functional assessment requirements
- Strong understanding of HSE requirements, including JSAs, risk assessments, inspections, audits, and reporting
- Experience with Microsoft Office
- Data QC and processing using industry-standard geophysical software
- Experience using GIS software

Mandatory Certifications & Requirements

- Open driver’s license
- Current First Aid certificate
- 4x4 and UTV/ATV certificates
- S1,2 3 Supervisor Certificate (or equivalent)
- National Police Clearance (issued within the last 6 months)
