Senior IR Advisor (Case Manager) - Brisbane Full time | Brisbane office | Red Union Support Hub (RUSH)

Are you an experienced industrial relations, employee relations or HR practitioner who wants to run real matters rather than manage process? At Red Union Support Hub, our Industrial Advocates run live workplace disputes for members every day: unfair dismissal, general protections, disciplinary and misconduct matters, pay and classification disputes, and workplace bullying claims. We're looking for a Senior IR Advisor to join the team in Brisbane, take on our more complex matters and help lift the standard of the team around you.

What You'll Do

- Run a caseload of complex and escalated matters end to end, from first contact through to resolution
- Advise members on disciplinary processes, performance management, classification and underpayment, termination and post-employment obligations
- Interpret and apply enterprise agreements, modern awards and the Fair Work Act to member circumstances, including where the position is contested
- Prepare correspondence to employers, submissions and supporting material for Fair Work Commission matters, and represent members in conciliations
- Work with our in-house solicitors on matters that escalate, and make the call on when a matter needs legal involvement
- Provide technical guidance to IR Advisors, review their advice and correspondence on harder matters, and act as a sounding board for the team
- Identify patterns across matters (recurring employers, award interpretation issues, systemic underpayments) and feed them back to the wider business
- Keep clear file notes and case records so matters progress without gaps

What We're Looking For

- At least 5 years' experience in industrial relations, employee relations or HR, with a track record of running contested matters yourself (employer association,



in-house, consultancy or advisory background all welcome)
- Strong working knowledge of the Fair Work Act, modern awards and enterprise agreements, and confidence applying them without needing to check with someone first
- Experience preparing for and appearing in Fair Work Commission conciliations
- Sound judgement on escalation, risk and when to hold a position versus settle
- Strong written and verbal communication, with the ability to put a clear position to an employer and defend it
- Ability to guide and support less experienced advisors without taking their matters off them
- Genuine commitment to fairness at work

Relevant tertiary qualifications in IR, HR, employment law or a related field are well regarded, though we're more interested in what you can do than what you've studied.
