The Office of the Victorian Information Commissioner (OVIC) is recruiting a Senior Information Management Officer to support OVIC to transition towards more integrated, automated and data-driven information management practices.

Role Description The Senior Information Management Officer provides specialist advice, leadership and hands-on support for the creation, capture, security, retention and disposal of OVIC's records and information assets. The role ensures OVIC's records management practices comply with the Public Records Act 1973 (Vic), the PDP Act, the FOI Act and Public Record Office Victoria (PROV)



standards, and relevant privacy, security and integrity obligations, while supporting operational needs.

The role combines day-to-day service delivery with continuous improvement initiatives, helping transition OVIC towards more integrated, automated and data-driven information management practices. You will work closely with business users, system owners and governance stakeholders to improve information management outcomes, strengthen compliance, and support the responsible adoption of technology, automation and emerging tools.

The role has a strong focus on the secure and compliant management of highly sensitive and classified material, and requires sound judgement, discretion and an unwavering commitment to confidentiality, integrity and OVIC's protective security requirements. The role also contributes to updating and leading changes to OVIC's polices and procedures when and where required.
