We are seeking an experienced Senior Manager, Equip Solution Standards (SAP Architect Lead) to lead a critical governance and solution assurance function across Transport’s complex SAP application landscape.

This is a highly visible leadership role that connects business strategy to SAP solution architecture and technology delivery outcomes, ensuring consistent and high-quality solution designs are translated into expected business expectations and benefits. You will establish and maintain clear governance and architecture standards, while providing practical guidance and support to help teams deliver scalable, secure and sustainable SAP solutions.

The role provides matrix leadership across the SAP technology teams, bringing together architects and technical specialists around common standards, consistent artefacts and transparent design decisions.

In this role, you'll:

You will be accountable for strengthening and operating the governance framework that supports Transports SAP Application design decisions, ongoing changes and leading continuous improvement activities to strengthen and improve our quality and speed of solution designs.

A core responsibility will be leading the Equip Design Endorsement Board, ensuring Solution design and decisions are appropriately reviewed, documented, endorsed and aligned with Equip and enterprise architecture standards. You will also connect decisions across the broader Equip governance framework, and enable clear traceability between demand, dependencies, design decisions and delivery outcomes.





Working collaboratively across Equip and Group Technology, you will support solution architects and delivery teams by providing explicit standards, reusable architecture artefacts and pragmatic guidance. You will help solution teams navigate governance requirements early and support the resolution of solution design issues whilst achieving quality outcomes and speed to value delivery.

Key responsibilities:

- Chair/lead the governance forum from architecture submission of the solution to design throughout the approval process.
- Act as the gatekeeper, coach to the architects.
- Lead and continuously improve SAP architecture governance, solution standards, frameworks and ways of working across Transports equip landscape.
- Establish and Lead the Equip design governance forums ensuring high-quality solution reviews, decision-making, documentation and action tracking.
- Establish and maintain consistent SAP architecture standards and artefacts, design templates, principles and governance requirements.
- Support SAP solution architects, technical teams and delivery teams to interpret and apply architecture standards in practical delivery situations.
- Build strong relationships with business and technology stakeholders to influence strategic outcomes that are aligned with enterprise roadmaps and governance.
- Promote collaboration, consistency, knowledge sharing and continuous improvement across the SAP architecture and delivery teams.
- Provide leadership and oversight for architecture reviews, decision-making, and technology investment initiatives.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and accountability within the architecture practice.
- Support organisational transformation initiatives by ensuring SAP solutions align with enterprise objectives and governance requirements.

About you

You are an experienced SAP architect and governance leader who can combine strong technical judgement with practical stakeholder engagement.

You will bring:

- Strong experience in SAP solution architecture within a large and complex enterprise environment.
- Deep knowledge of SAP application best practices, architecture principles. (Clean Core)
- Experience establishing, rebuilding or improving architecture governance and design authority processes.
- Proven ability to engage and influence senior executives, boards, and diverse stakeholder groups.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to simplify complex technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
- Demonstrated success in driving consistency, standards, and governance across technology teams.
- Experience balancing strategic thinking with pragmatic delivery outcomes.
- Tertiary qualifications in IT (or equivalent experience) and the ability to drive consistency, quality, and innovation across SAP environments are essential.
