Senior Mechanical Project Engineer (FIFO)

Overview

We are seeking a Mechanical Project Engineer / Senior Mechanical Project Engineer to support the delivery of multiple CAPEX and plant improvement projects at a major rare earths processing operation in Western Australia.

The role will focus on brownfields project delivery across an operating processing facility, with projects typically ranging from $100k to $1m. This is a hands-on position suited to an engineer who enjoys being in the field, working closely with contractors and driving projects through to completion.

The Responsibilities

- Manage multiple mechanical and SMP CAPEX projects from planning through to execution, commissioning and handover

- Manage site contractors and coordinate SMP, E&I; and other project interfaces

- Manage project costs, forecasts, schedules, scope and variations

- Coordinate labour, materials, equipment and site requirements

- Work closely with operations, maintenance, engineering and contractors to maintain project progress

- Review drawings,



scopes, work packs and contractor documentation

- Monitor field progress, resolve constraints and drive safe project delivery

The Expertise You’ll Bring

- Mechanical Engineering qualification – essential

- Project Engineer or Senior Project Engineer experience within mining, mineral processing or heavy industry

- Experience delivering brownfields CAPEX projects and plant upgrades

- Strong mechanical / SMP project experience

- Proven contractor management capability

- Valuable understanding of project cost control, planning and scheduling

- Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently

- Hands-on, field-focused approach with the ability to drive delivery on site

Roster

- FIFO from Perth

- 12 days on / 9 days off, Monday to the following Friday

- 11 days on / 10 days off, Friday to the following Monday

- Day shift only
