Carline Automotive Solutions is seeking a skilled and experienced Mechanic to join our dynamic team in Cairns, QLD. This is a full time position offering a rewarding career in the automotive trades industry. As a Mechanic, you will be at the heart of our operations, providing high-quality vehicle maintenance, repair and diagnostic services to our valued customers. This role is essential to maintaining our reputation for excellence and ensuring customer satisfaction. You will work on-site at our Cairns location, utilising modern workshop facilities and equipment to deliver professional automotive services.

Key responsibilities

- Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults in vehicles using appropriate testing equipment and procedures
- Perform routine maintenance tasks including oil changes, filter replacements, fluid top-ups and tyre rotations
- Repair and replace vehicle components including engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension systems and electrical systems
- Conduct vehicle inspections and provide accurate quotations for repair work to customers
- Maintain detailed service records and documentation for all work completed
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations within the workshop environment
- Communicate effectively with customers regarding their vehicle condition and recommended repairs
- Utilise workshop management systems and diagnostic tools to complete work efficiently
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth workshop operations

What we're looking for

- A recognised automotive mechanic qualification or equivalent trade certification
- Proven experience working as a mechanic, ideally with several years in a workshop environment
- Strong knowledge of vehicle mechanical and electrical systems
- Proficiency in using diagnostic equipment and workshop tools
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals,



wiring diagrams and service specifications
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication skills and a customer-focused approach
- Physical fitness and ability to work in various positions for extended periods
- Current driver's license and willingness to undertake test drives
- Commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and workmanship
- Preferred: Experience with hybrid or electric vehicles, or relevant continuing professional development
