Role Description

This role sits within OVIC's Legal,Policy and Investigations team and works closely with, and reports to, the Senior Lawyer. The role provides legal research and support across the team's areas of responsibility, developing its legal skills and knowledge of OVIC's functions under supervision.

At the VPS Grade 2 level this role provides research, document drafting, advice and paralegal/administrative support for OVIC's legal function and may assist with other duties outside of the legal domain. The position operates under supervision and is developing its independent legal judgement, with opportunities to build expertise in administrative law, commercial law and freedom of information and privacy law.

This position is only open to Australian citizens.



Preferred applicants will be required to undertake pre-employment screening, including the completion of a Statutory Declaration and Consent Form.

This role requires the employee be found eligible and suitable to gain and maintain a security clearance for the duration of their employment. This includes periodic rescreening as required, across the lifecycle of employment.
