An excellent opportunity has become available for an experienced Senior Payroll Officer to join an established national organisation based in Osborne Park. This is a hands-on senior payroll position, responsible for accurate and compliant end-to-end payroll while also acting as a technical point of support within the payroll team. Reporting directly to the Finance Manager, you’ll have exposure to multiple entities, complex payroll requirements, reporting, reconciliations and continuous improvement.
The Role
Your responsibilities will include
- End-to-end processing of fortnightly and ad-hoc payrolls
- Processing new starters, employee changes, allowances, deductions, leave and terminations
- Payroll adjustments and back payments
- STP lodgements and payroll reporting
- Investigating and resolving payroll discrepancies and employee queries
- Interpreting Modern Awards, employment conditions and relevant legislation
- Managing superannuation and payroll tax requirements
- End-of-month and end-of-financial-year payroll reconciliations
- Assisting with General Ledger reconciliations
- Supporting payroll audits and providing accurate documentation
- Providing technical payroll guidance and support to other team members
- Identifying opportunities to improve payroll processes, controls and efficiency
About You We’re looking for someone who has:
- A minimum of 2 years' demonstrated payroll experience
- Previous Senior Payroll Officer experience highly regarded
- Solid end-to-end payroll experience, ideally within a high-volume or service-based environment
- Experience processing payroll across multiple entities
- Strong knowledge of Modern Awards, Fair Work, taxation and superannuation
- Strong payroll reconciliation and reporting capability
- Confidence working with payroll and time & attendance systems
- Strong Excel skills
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage competing deadlines
- The confidence to support colleagues with complex payroll matters
Experience with Wageloch would be advantageous, although broader payroll and time & attendance systems experience will also be highly regarded. Interested?
