Through industry leadership, policy development and advocacy, the ICA works closely with governments, regulators, communities and industry stakeholders to address some of the nation's most significant economic and social challenges.

This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced policy and advocacy professional to help shape industry-leading initiatives that address escalating disaster risk, growing exposure in high-risk areas and rising cost pressures that threaten insurance affordability. The role focuses on advancing resilience investment, strengthening planning and building standards, and supporting a robust insurance sector that enables communities, businesses and the economy to adapt to technological change, geopolitical uncertainty and other emerging risks.

Reporting to the GM, Climate, Social Policy & International Engagement, the successful candidate will lead and coordinate the ICA's major resilience policy agenda. The role will involve engagement with members, government agencies, regulators, and community stakeholders to develop evidence-based policy positions and drive advocacy outcomes.

Key responsibilities will include





- Leading policy development and advocacy initiatives across the resilience portfolio.
- Coordinating industry working groups, member committees and government-industry forums.
- Preparing policy papers, submissions, briefings and consultation responses.
- Representing the ICA in stakeholder consultations, industry events and government engagements.
- Building strategic relationships to support effective policy reform and industry outcomes.

The successful candidate will bring demonstrated experience (10+ years) in policy, advocacy and industry engagement across insurance, financial services, infrastructure, emergency management or a similarly complex and regulated environment. Strong analytical, stakeholder engagement and communication skills, together with the ability to influence outcomes across diverse stakeholder groups, will be essential. Experience in resilience, climate risk, planning policy, building standards or insurance affordability is highly desirable.
