POSITION DESCRIPTION — SENIOR PLUMBER / WATER TREATMENT TECHNICIAN (QBCC NOMINEE)

Location: Unit 1 / 72 Crocodile Crescent, Mount St John QLD 4817 — Townsville based, with regional North Queensland site travel.

1. About Eureka Water & Filtration

Eureka Water & Filtration is an industrial water treatment and thermal asset business operating across North Queensland. We service mine sites, councils, food processors, utilities and commercial facilities — filtration and treatment plant, pumping and reticulation, hot water and thermal systems, and the plumbing works that tie them together. The business is at the point where the work is there and the constraint is people.

We are looking for someone who wants to help build the next stage of it, not simply be allocated jobs.

2. The role in short A licensed plumber with genuine waste water experience who will act as our QBCC Nominee, lead a small field team, and take a hand in how the business grows. This is a technical leadership position with a clear path to a profit share arrangement for the right person.

3. Key responsibilities

Technical delivery

· Install, service, fault-find and commission waste water and water treatment plant — pump stations, treatment and filtration systems, dosing, aeration, reticulation and associated pipework.

· Design, size and optimise package waste water treatment plants to suit site loading, discharge requirements and client operating constraints.

· Install, service and certify oil and grease separators, including sizing, pit works and discharge compliance.

· Design, install and commission water recycling and reuse systems — treatment train, storage, pumping and reticulation back to point of use.

· Design, install and service washdown systems, including wash bays, sumps, pumping, filtration and recycled water supply.

· Carry out plumbing and drainage works to the Plumbing Code of Australia, QBCC requirements and relevant Australian Standards.





· Diagnose recurring plant problems and recommend engineered fixes rather than repeat repairs.

· Produce clear field records — service reports, test results, photographs and handover documentation clients can act on.

Leadership

· Lead and supervise a small field crew, including apprentices, and set the standard for workmanship and site conduct.

· Plan and sequence jobs, allocate labour and materials, and keep works to program and budget.

· Own safety on site — prestarts, JSAs, safe work instructions, permits and client site inductions.

· Mentor and develop staff, and take part in hiring as the team grows.

Business growth

· Scope and price works, and support quotations, proposals and variations.

· Build relationships with site maintenance and engineering contacts, and identify further work with existing clients.

· Contribute to systems, procedures and service offerings as the business scales.

4. QBCC Nominee The successful applicant must be willing and eligible to act as the QBCC Nominee Supervisor for the business. You will need to hold the appropriate QBCC license class, satisfy QBCC's technical qualification and experience requirements, and accept the supervisory obligations that come with the nomination. This is not negotiable for the role, and applications will not progress without it.

5. Essential requirements

· Queensland plumbing and drainage licence, current and unrestricted.

· QBCC licence at a class that allows nomination as Nominee Supervisor, or clear eligibility to obtain one.

· Demonstrated waste water experience — treatment plant, pump stations, sewer reticulation or similar.

· Current driver licence.

· Willing and able to travel to regional North Queensland sites, including occasional overnight stays.





· Able to meet mine site and industrial site access requirements, including medicals and drug and alcohol testing.

6. Desirable

· Backflow prevention, thermostatic mixing valve, or on-site sewerage facility endorsements.

· Experience with dosing systems, instrumentation, controls or basic PLC interaction.

· Confined space, working at heights, EWP or high risk work licences.

· Experience quoting and running jobs commercially, not just delivering them.

· Cert IV or higher in plumbing, water operations or a related technical discipline.

7. The person we are looking for

Technically capable and genuinely curious. Water treatment moves — new membranes, new chemistry, new controls — and we want someone who reads up on it, asks questions, and comes back from a job having learned something. We would rather take on a person with a strong trade base and a hunger to learn the treatment side than someone who has stopped being interested. Equally, we need someone who can be trusted alone on a client's plant and who other tradespeople will follow.
