The Opportunity With a strong pipeline of upcoming projects, Fyfe is expanding its Power & Connection capability and is seeking a Senior Power Systems Engineer to help develop our grid connection team. This role can be based in Brisbane or Melbourne.

You will provide technical leadership across generator and load connection projects, including power systems modelling, studies and analysis for major data centre developments, solar farms, wind farms, battery energy storage systems and hybrid generation projects across Australia. You will work with industry-standard tools including PSS®E, PSCAD and DIgSILENT PowerFactory.

This position is suited to an experienced engineer with specialist grid connection expertise from concept through to execution. You will contribute to complex data centre, renewable energy and storage projects while advancing technical standards and supporting the continued growth of Fyfe’s sustainable energy portfolio.

The Impact You'll Have

- Lead and manage major R0, R1 and R2 grid connection projects across data centres, renewable generation, battery energy storage and hybrid technologies.
- Undertake power systems modelling and analysis for utility-scale networks, including steady-state and dynamic studies.




- Provide technical leadership across generator and load connection studies from initial advisory and feasibility through to execution.
- Manage project scope, schedule, budget, quality and technical risk across assigned projects.
- Work closely with clients, AEMO, transmission and distribution network service providers, contractors and project stakeholders.
- Contribute to the development of technical standards, methodologies and best practice across Fyfe’s Power & Connection capability.
- Support and mentor engineers, promoting high-quality technical delivery and collaborative project outcomes.

What You'll Bring

- A Bachelor of Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering or a related discipline.
- At least 10 years’ experience in power systems engineering and grid connection projects, with strong knowledge of R0, R1 and R2 connection studies.
- A thorough understanding of Australia’s generator and load connection processes, including Chapters 5 and 5A of the National Electricity Rules and the obligations of AEMO, network service providers and project proponents.
- Strong knowledge of TNSP, DNSP and AEMO requirements.
- Proficiency in PSS®E, PSCAD and DIgSILENT PowerFactory.




- Chartered Professional Engineer status and RPEQ or RPEV registration are desirable.
- Demonstrated experience delivering complex technical projects to agreed quality, budget and schedule requirements.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management and client-facing skills, supported by a collaborative approach.
