We're continuing to grow and are looking for an experienced Senior Project Engineer to join our project delivery team, complementing our strong pipeline of work in hand and upcoming projects across Newcastle and the surrounding areas. THE ROLE

You will provide immediate support to the Project Manager in managing Project in accordance with Company policy and procedures, to ensure its successful and timely completion and to achieve objectives for quality, time, safety, environment, profit and client satisfaction all in a manner that leads to future opportunities with the Client.

The Project Engineer is responsible for:

- Review tenders for compliance
- Review scope of works prior to CA’s letting trades
- Review constructability issues relating to design and finishes selections
- Maintain project design program to ensure letting is complete
- Manage and review shop drawing process for subcontractors involving temp works (hoists, scaffold etc.) and project works (windows, joinery, structure PT etc.)
- Review and resolve coordination conflicts,



manage IFC design change register and liaise with the HOD for portal lodgement when required.
- Assist Contract Administrator with all Variation Assessment
- Review sub-contractor programs
- Monitor and status project programs and schedules
- Assist with monthly report including design report when required
- Monitor defect rectification. Issuing defects to subcontractors and tracking the closeout accordingly
- Responsible for quality and compliance on site including closing out quality inspection reports
- Short term and long term procurement post-letting
- Assist with the implementation of Decode’s project WHS policy and system
- Manage the mandatory inspections required for the project including closing out structural engineer inspections on site and liaising closeouts of inspections with all consultants
- Manage RFI’s and compliance closeouts with the project PCA. Coordinate PCA inspections and closeouts as required for the project. Specifically, the PE will be involved in receiving OC for the project.
- Collate, review and submit documentation (in conjunction with the project manager) to the PCA for the receival of OC on the project, in line with the DBP Act requirements. Also assisting the PM and design team in receiving CC’s on the project as required.
- Conduct workshops with relevant consultants and subcontractors to facilitate execution on site
- Check compliance and compatibility of all materials and equipment used on site with the relevant consultants to ensure suitability




- Review of construction documentation to find VE options for the construction of the project
- Provide support for the foremen and site manager on the project to ensure that the project program is met

ABOUT YOU

You're an experienced Senior Project Engineer who enjoys leading teams, solving complex challenges, and delivering outstanding project outcomes. You combine strong commercial acumen with excellent communication skills and have a proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders while keeping projects on track.

You'll also have

- A Tertiary Degree or Diploma in Building Management, Quantity Surveying or equivalent
- Have min two years’ experience as a site engineer/project engineer across all disciplines of construction (architectural, structural, services etc.)
- Be computer literate in Word processing, Excel, programming, and ACONEX or other document control software
