You will deliver high level clinical services to the families of children (0-6 years) who are diagnosed with a permanent hearing loss on the Healthy Hearing pathway. Fostering a culture of collaboration, you will develop partnerships with key stakeholders across Queensland, contributing to child and family wellbeing, promoting secure attachment, communication and positive developmental trajectories.

About The Team

Healthy Hearing Family Support was established in 2006 to deliver early support to families whose children are aged 0-6 years who are undergoing Audiology assessment and following diagnosis of a permanent hearing loss. It is a state-wide service provided by Children's Health Queensland. Clinicians utilise a collaborative family-centred approach, supporting family wellbeing, child development, and establishing a system of support around families through partnerships with key service stakeholders including hospital staff, audiologists, speech pathologists and the Queensland Department of Education.

About The Role In this role you will deliver quality outcomes for children, young people and families (Leader of Self) in accordance with the Children's Health Queensland Leadership Excellence Framework and the Queensland Public Service and the CHQ values . Your contribution will include:

- Providing high level clinical assessment and therapeutic intervention (including adjustment to diagnosis, grief and loss and trauma counselling, caregiver wellbeing, parenting support), as well as supporting access to early intervention, utilising multi-modal service delivery that includes face-to-face (individual and group), telephone and telehealth.
- Independently manage a large caseload of complex clients, throughout a geographically large, and culturally diverse area that includes urban, regional and remote locations.




- Developing and facilitating partnerships with key stakeholders throughout Queensland, including Queensland Department of Education, Audiologists and Early Intervention providers.
- Co-ordinating and participating in outreach to regional and remote communities throughout Queensland
- Providing operational support that includes managing referrals and case conferences
- Preparing correspondence and reports and contributing to research, quality improvement activities and program/ resource development
- Clinical and operational supervision and mentoring of junior staff and students
- Coordinating and providing professional development within the team and across the sector and a commitment to ongoing professional training, particularly in relation to therapeutic interventions and parenting programs.
