Senior Research Data Analyst

Your new company An established organisation is seeking an experienced Data Analyst to support evidence-based decision-making across a range of business, operational and strategic initiatives. This team leverages data and analytics to drive continuous improvement, enhance customer outcomes and provide insights that influence key organisational priorities.

Your current role

As a Senior Research Data Analyst, you will be responsible for transforming complex data into meaningful insights that support planning, policy development, product enhancement and operational performance.

You will work closely with stakeholders to understand business requirements, extract and analyse data from multiple sources, and deliver reporting and visualisations for both technical and non-technical audiences. This role offers the opportunity to work across large and diverse datasets while contributing to strategic projects and analytical initiatives.

Key responsibilities include:

- Extracting, cleansing, transforming and analysing data from multiple sources.
- Applying statistical and analytical techniques to identify trends, patterns, risks and opportunities.
- Developing and maintaining data models, datasets, KPIs and performance measures.
- Creating reports, dashboards, presentations and visualisations that convert data into actionable insights.
- Supporting research, evaluation and continuous improvement activities.
- Conducting data quality assurance, validation and documentation activities.
- Collaborating with stakeholders to define reporting requirements and analytical objectives.




- Contributing to a data-driven culture through high-quality analysis and effective communication of insights.

What you'll need to succeed To be successful in this position, you will possess:

- Demonstrated experience in data analysis, reporting, research or evaluation activities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex information from multiple data sources.
- Experience building and maintaining datasets, data models, metrics, measures and reporting frameworks.
- Advanced SQL skills and experience working with large, complex datasets.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- Experience preparing reports, presentations and insights for a variety of audiences.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality outcomes within tight deadlines.
- Experience with Azure Databricks or similar cloud-based analytics platforms.
- Exposure to R, Python or other statistical analysis tools will be highly regarded.
- Experience within healthcare, government, regulated industries or large enterprise environments will be advantageous.
- Tertiary qualifications in Data Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Health, Science or a related discipline.
