The Opportunity:

The client is a rapidly growing, multi-award-winning Australian fintech that has built a strong reputation in residential property lending. Combining technology with a practical, customer-focused approach, the business has established a solid platform and is now investing in the growth of its property-backed commercial lending offering.

This is an opportunity to join at a meaningful stage of that growth. As Senior Settlements Officer, you will take ownership of residential settlements while gaining exposure to an expanding range of commercial transactions. You will work closely with internal teams and external partners to keep settlements moving smoothly, with the opportunity to help shape processes as the commercial offering develops.

Typical duties include:

- Manage residential loan settlements end to end, with growing exposure to commercial transactions, ensuring all parties are aligned and ready to settle.
- Oversee a busy settlement pipeline, balancing competing priorities and maintaining momentum during periods of high volume.
- Work closely with Credit, Sales, Operations and Treasury, as well as brokers and clients, to resolve issues and progress loans within agreed timeframes.
- Confirm that supporting documentation is complete and meets the conditions set by the Credit team.
- Prepare accurate instructions for panel lawyers covering loan documentation, funding and discharges.
- Keep internal systems and settlement records up to date, including records for security packets.
- Respond to customer and broker queries after settlement and support the repayment and discharge of loans.
- Mentor junior Settlements Officers,



act as a senior escalation point and support the Team Lead with broader team responsibilities.

- At least five years’ experience in mortgage settlements, with a strong understanding of residential loan funding and discharges.
- Experience managing multiple settlement files and competing requests while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to work directly with brokers, clients and internal teams.
- Strong attention to detail, sound organisational skills and a practical approach to resolving issues.
- A track record of taking ownership and following through to get settlements completed.
- An interest in learning commercial property settlements, improving processes and supporting the development of a growing team.
- A friendly, energetic and helpful approach to working with colleagues and customers.
