Senior Software Engineer – Distributed Systems

I'm currently working with a well-established organisation that is looking for an experienced Software Engineer to join a team-oriented and technically focused engineering team.

This is a broad software engineering position covering application development, distributed systems, cloud platforms and automation. You'll work on software, services and internal platforms that support teams across the organisation.

What you'll be doing

- Design, develop and maintain applications, services and APIs
- Build internal tools and web-based applications
- Develop automation and engineering solutions across cloud and on-premise environments
- Work alongside infrastructure and platform teams to improve development and deployment processes
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment solutions
- Develop reliable, scalable and observable systems




- Collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Contribute to system architecture, technical design and engineering standards
- Troubleshoot complex technical issues and contribute to continuous improvement

What we're looking for

- 7+ years' software engineering experience
- Solid development experience with Python, Golang or C++
- Experience working across cloud and on-premise environments
- Strong understanding of distributed systems
- Experience working with relational databases
- Experience with containers and container orchestration
- Strong understanding of reliability, monitoring and observability
- Experience with CI/CD, automation and modern software development practices
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
