The Role:

As part of the food services team you are required to assist with facilitating a high quality, cost effective food and beverage service to all customers of Lutheran Aged Care in accordance with dietary, statutory and best practice guidelines.

Position Objectives:

Under the direction and supervision of the Hotel Services Manager you are to demonstrate leadership and coordination through utilisation the Food Management System (Netmenu) and associated functionality to provide a:

- High quality standard of food and beverage service that enhances resident lifestyle and encourages residents’ participation and appetite.
- Commitment to the values and philosophy of Lutheran Aged Care.
- Commitment to the Quality program including documentation, utilisation, auditing, continuous improvement and risk management activities.
- Commitment to the Work Health &Safety; program including consultation, risk management and injury management activities as set out in Lutheran Aged Care’s quality and other documentation.




- Commitment to the privacy and confidentiality requirements as set out in Lutheran Aged Care’s documentation.
- Commitment to ongoing personal and career development.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

- Trade Qualified Commercial Cook or Chef
- Yes
- High level of oral and written skills.
- Yes
- Computer and keyboard skills, including utilisation of the MSOffice suite of products (Outlook, Excel etc).
- Yes
- Current Food Safety Supervisors certification
- Yes
- Demonstrated ability to supervise and lead staff
- Yes
- Demonstrated utilisation of Food Management System software (eg NetMenu)
- Yes
- Demonstrated ability to work within policy and guidelines
- Yes
- Demonstrated understanding of Food Standards Code, Food Act 2003 and Food Regulation 2010.
- Yes
- Demonstrated understanding of the Aged Care Accreditation process.
- Yes
- Experience in all aspects of planning and preparation of meals in a commercial setting.
- Yes
- Ability to work as part of a team or individually
- Yes
- Demonstrated understanding of food requirements for the elderly and vulnerable
- Yes

Personal Qualities:

- Neat and tidy in appearance with appropriate dress for the duties to be performed
