Senior Speech Pathologist | Adult Dysphagia & Acquired Communication | Clinical Leadership, Evidence-Based Care & Service Improvement.

Delivering expert adult Speech Pathology care across dysphagia and acquired communication, while providing clinical leadership, supporting workforce development, and driving evidence-based service improvement and patient-centred outcomes.

Your new role:

As a senior Speech Pathologist at Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Hospital, you will provide high-quality clinical services to adult patients with acquired communication and swallowing disorders, working as part of a collaborative interprofessional team.

- Provide assessment, intervention and evaluation for complex communication and swallowing disorders across the continuum of care, using evidence-based practice and sound clinical judgement.
- Act as a clinical reference point within the Speech Pathology team, providing clinical advice and supporting effective, patient-centred care in a complex hospital environment.
- Contribute to service development, quality improvement, research and the development and review of clinical practices, policies and protocols.

About you: We are looking for an experienced Speech Pathologist who brings strong clinical expertise, sound judgement and a commitment to delivering safe, compassionate and evidence-based care.

- Demonstrated experience in Speech Pathology, with clinical expertise in the assessment and management of acquired communication and swallowing disorders in adults.
- Strong clinical reasoning, prioritisation and time-management skills, with the ability to manage complex workloads and make increasingly independent clinical decisions.
- Highly developed communication, interpersonal and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, carers, multidisciplinary teams, students and external agencies.

The Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Hospital (QEII) is a medium metropolitan adult facility providing a range of inpatient and outpatient services including a 24-hour Emergency Department. We provide a range of services, including surgery, cardiology, endoscopy, orthopaedics, gynaecology, urology, geriatric, respiratory and emergency medicine.

We're making our hospital bigger and better to make it easier for our growing community to get the health care they need. We'll have more beds, medical wards and expanded intensive care and emergency services planned to be opened by 2027.
