Think Systems is looking for a senior systems engineer to support complex rail and major infrastructure programs for our clients.

We are particularly interested in people who are comfortable working across package boundaries, disciplines and delivery organisations; who can build a coherent system-level view, identify where integration risks sit, and help teams resolve hard technical problems before they become delivery problems.

Some of the things this work may involve:

- Develop and govern system architectures, including the frameworks, principles and processes that manage them
- Lead system definition, functional decomposition and architecture development
- Identify and manage system boundaries, interfaces and dependencies across contractors and design packages
- Keep multiple disciplines and delivery organisations technically coherent
- Facilitate workshops that resolve conflicting assumptions, requirements and design positions
- Support requirements traceability, configuration and technical baseline management, verification, integration, testing and commissioning

What we’re looking for

- A systems thinking mindset




- The ability to explain to different stakeholders why your recommendations matter to program delivery
- Substantial systems engineering or architecture experience on large, multi-package rail or infrastructure programs
- Hands-on experience with system architecture / MBSE tools such as Cameo, Capella/Arcadia, Sparx Enterprise Architect or similar
- Working knowledge of ISO/IEC/IEEE 15288 and relevant rail standards such as EN 50126
- Confidence with senior stakeholders, and the ability to turn complex technical issues into transparent, practical outcomes
- Highly regarded
- Rail domain depth in signalling/ETCS, stations, tunnels or linewide systems
- Experience across complex greenfield and brownfield interfaces
- Client-side and delivery-side experience
- Chartered Engineer status or INCOSE CSEP/ESEP

Location

Brisbane, but Think Systems is a national consultancy, so some travel across Australia is expected as part of supporting client and project needs.
