Primary objective

Provide leadership and best practice expertise to Wugularr School in the implementation of a whole of system approach to wellbeing,

behaviour management and Whole School Curriculum. The whole of system approach focuses on preventative models of behaviour management and strategies to address student wellbeing and Literacy and Numeracy at a whole school level.

Context statement

Wugularr School is approximately 110km southeast of Katherine in the community of Beswick. Wugularr School accommodates FAFT to year 12 students of which 98% are Indigenous. Literacy and Numeracy are the schools’ priorities. Our shared vision is of a community where all young people are secure, have material basics, are healthy, are learning and participating and have a positive sense of identify and culture. The community can be accessed via road most of the year round.

Key duties and responsibilities

Plan and provide professional learning and coaching to teaching staff at Wugularr School to effectively implement wellbeing and

literacy programs and frameworks.
1. Provide high-quality professional advice and best-practice support to Wugularr School in the implementation of the wellbeing and

positive behaviour approach, as well as a Whole School Literacy & Numeracy Programs.
1. Develop and maintain effective strategic partnerships with professional stakeholders across the Katherine Region and work in

consultation with the principal to coordinate and manage professional learning for staff in the school.
1. Undertake a 75% teaching load in Wugularr School as per ST1 Conditions in schools.

Selection criteria

Essential

1. Demonstrated experience in positive behaviour, wellbeing and the Australian Curriculum's General Capabilities in relation to improving

wellbeing, engagement and behaviour outcomes for NT students.
1. Demonstrated experience in developing Literacy and Numeracy Programs.
2. Demonstrated experience with high level interpersonal, negotiation and communication skills to work effectively with staff and other

agency and community members, particularly in the context of interacting effectively with people in remote communities.
1. Demonstrated ability to work both autonomously and as a member of an integrated team to achieve whole of school outcomes.
2. Demonstrated ability to manage a 75% classroom teaching load along with the programming, planning and assessment skills that this

will entail.

Registration with the Teachers Registration Board of the Northern Territory, and a current Working with Children Clearance Notice (Ochre
