With a strong pipeline of transport initiatives and a collaborative technical services team, they are seeking an experienced traffic engineering professional to provide specialist expertise across transport planning, road safety and capital project delivery.

Your new role

As the Senior Traffic & Transportation Engineer, you will provide high-level technical advice, lead complex traffic investigations and oversee the delivery of transport infrastructure projects that support the Council's long-term strategic objectives.

- Undertake traffic impact assessments, intersection analysis and road network investigations to support informed decision-making.
- Provide specialist traffic engineering and transport planning advice to internal stakeholders, developers and external agencies.
- Act as project sponsor for traffic and transportation projects from initial scoping through to completion.
- Manage consultants, contractors and key stakeholders including Main Roads WA and utility providers.
- Review development and subdivision applications to ensure compliance with relevant engineering and transport standards.
- Prepare grant funding submissions, technical reports, committee reports and project documentation.




- Conduct road safety audits and contribute to the development of capital works and transport improvement programs.

What you'll need to succeed

- Degree qualification in Civil Engineering, Traffic Engineering or a related discipline.
- Extensive experience in traffic engineering, transport planning and road network analysis.
- Solid proficiency with SIDRA, AutoCAD Civil 3D and AutoTurn.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Main Roads WA, Austroads, ARRB and relevant Australian Standards.
- Accredited Road Safety Auditor qualification or progress towards accreditation.
- Current C Class Driver's Licence and ability to obtain a National Police Clearance.
