About the role

The Production Worker (Batching) plays a key role supporting the production team, unpacking and preparing raw meat, loading it onto the conveyor for processing, and doing basic trimming before it enters the production line. The role involves manual handling, heavy lifting, and maintaining strict hygiene and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

- Debag/unpack meat from bags or bins ready for processing
- Load meat onto the conveyor for the production line
- Use a knife to trim/cut meat as needed before it goes onto the line, if necessary
- Lift and move bins, boxes, and product (up to 20–27 kg) throughout the shift
- Keep up with a fast-paced, continuous production line
- Follow hygiene and safety procedures, wear required protective clothing
- Keep the work area clean during and after shifts
- Report any issues or equipment problems to the Supervisor

About you

- Reliable, punctual, able to start at 4:00 AM
- Physically fit, comfortable with heavy lifting and standing all shift
- Basic knife handling ability for debagging the meat.
- Comfortable in a cold environment (5–10°C)
- Full working rights in Australia

Preferred

- Previous experience in food manufacturing or meat processing
- Experience in a batching, production, or manufacturing environment
- Understanding of food safety and hygiene practices
