About the Role: As a Shift Leader / Bar Person at our Japanese Izakaya Restaurant, you will serve as the manager’s right hand - acting as second-in-command to lead the front-of-house team while running a dynamic bar, drinks preparation and delivery. . In this hybrid role, you will drive shift operations, ensure service excellence, and craft high-quality beverages. Your deep expertise in cocktails, spirits, sake, and Japanese cuisine will set the standard for team leadership and exceptional guest experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

- Team Leadership & Shift Supervision: Serve as number two to the Venue Manager, stepping in to lead shifts, guide floor/bar staff, and ensure smooth service flow.
- Bar Operations & Mixology: Prepare and present creative cocktails, spirits, wine, and beer, while maintaining high bar speed, precision, and presentation standards.
- Guest Service & Experience: Take orders, serve food and drinks, provide menu recommendations, and ensure exceptional customer satisfaction.
- Product Knowledge Sharing: Utilize and share deep knowledge of cocktails, drinks, sake, and Japanese cuisine with guests and team members.
- Section & Bar Management: Maintain strict cleanliness, hygiene, organization, and stock levels across the bar and dining areas.
- Communication & Training: Assist in mentoring team members, communicating service priorities,



and resolving customer inquiries effectively under pressure.

Requirements & Qualifications:

- RSA Certification: Must hold a valid, current Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certificate.
- Bar & Mixology Expertise: Demonstrated experience and solid knowledge in crafting cocktails, serving wines/beers, and handling bar setup.
- Leadership Capability: Proven experience in a supervisory or leadership capacity within hospitality, with the ability to lead by example.
- Japanese Beverage & Cuisine Knowledge: Strong knowledge of sake, spirits, and Japanese dining culture (or a strong passion and willingness to learn quickly).
- Communication & Demeanor: Energetic, outgoing personality with outstanding communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Multitasking Under Pressure: Ability to manage shift priorities and maintain composure in a fast-paced setting.
- Flexibility: Availability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
