An established national business in the building and residential products sector is looking for a customer-focused Showroom Consultant to join its team in Garbutt, Townsville.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys helping customers bring their ideas to life. You’ll work with homeowners, renovators, builders and trade customers, guiding them through product options, helping them make confident selections and ensuring they receive a professional and welcoming showroom experience.

This is consultative sales — not high-pressure retail. It’s about understanding what the customer is trying to achieve, asking the right questions and helping them find the right solution.

What you’ll be doing

- Welcoming customers into the showroom and understanding their needs
- Providing advice across a broad range of products and finishes
- Helping customers compare options and make confident selections
- Preparing quotes, processing orders and following up enquiries
- Building strong relationships with customers and local industry contacts
- Maintaining a professional, well-presented and customer-ready showroom
- Working closely with the broader branch team to provide a seamless customer experience

What we’re looking for You don’t necessarily need experience in this exact industry.

You may currently work in a showroom, retail, interiors,



home improvement, building products, furniture, kitchens, bathrooms, flooring or another customer-focused environment where product knowledge and service matter.

What’s more important is that you:

- Enjoy working with people and providing genuine customer service
- Are confident asking questions and recommending solutions
- Have strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Are organised and comfortable managing quotes, orders and follow-up
- Take pride in presentation and attention to detail
- Can learn a technical product range and explain it clearly to customers
- Enjoy being part of a supportive, practical team
