About the role

Subzero Construction & Consulting Pty Ltd is seeking experienced Shutdown Fitter & Boilermakers to join our team on a casual basis. This position ae based in various locations - NSW, QLD & SA and offers the flexibility of casual work whilst contributing to critical shutdown and maintenance projects

Key responsibilities

- Perform fitting and welding tasks on boiler systems, pressure vessels and associated equipment during scheduled shutdowns

- Inspect, maintain and repair industrial machinery and equipment in accordance with safety standards and client specifications

- Conduct welding operations using various techniques to ensure structural integrity and compliance with industry codes

- Assemble and install piping systems, brackets and other metal fabrications as required

- Work collaboratively with other tradespeople and site teams to meet project deadlines and safety requirements

- Identify equipment defects and recommend appropriate repair or replacement solutions

- Maintain accurate documentation of work completed, materials used and hours worked

- Adhere to all workplace health and safety protocols and site-specific requirements

What we're looking for

- Australian recognized Trade qualification as a Fitter or Boilermaker or equivalent discipline

- Proven experience working on shutdown and maintenance projects within industrial or mining environments

- Proficiency in welding, fitting and fabrication techniques with demonstrated technical competency

- Solid understanding of safety procedures, particularly in high-risk industrial settings

- Ability to interpret engineering drawings,



specifications and work instructions accurately

- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team

- Experience with pressure vessel work, boiler systems or heavy equipment maintenance is highly desirable

- Flexibility to work extended hours or irregular schedules during shutdown periods
- A reliable and conscientious approach to work with a strong commitment to quality and safety

- Current or valid white card/general construction induction card

- National Police Clearance within 12 months

- Confined Spaces & Working at Height's tickets within 2 years validity.

- Clean Shaven or willing to comply with this site access requirement
