Contec is currently looking for an experienced Site Manager to join a major commercial construction project in Brisbane.

This is a substantial new build and refurbishment project being delivered within an established, operational environment. We’re looking for someone who is confident managing a busy site, coordinating multiple trades and keeping works moving while minimising disruption to surrounding businesses and stakeholders.

The Project The project involves a combination of new construction, refurbishment and structural works, with a number of different work fronts being delivered across the site.

The works include

- Major refurbishment and redevelopment of existing facilities
- New construction and extensions
- Structural modifications and associated building works
- Civil, drainage and external works
- Upgrades to existing services and infrastructure
- Staged construction works within an operational environment
- Complex site logistics, access and construction sequencing

About the Role

As Site Manager, you’ll take ownership of the day-to-day construction activities on site.

This is a role where solid site leadership and practical construction knowledge are important. You’ll be responsible for planning ahead,



managing competing priorities and finding practical solutions within a complex operating environment.

What We’re Looking For

We’re keen to speak with Site Managers who have a strong background in commercial construction, particularly those who have experience across refurbishment, structural works or projects within existing operational environments.

You’ll ideally have

- Experience leading sizeable commercial construction projects on site
- A background in refurbishment, redevelopment or projects within operational environments
- A solid understanding of structural, civil and general building works
- Experience coordinating multiple subcontractors and trades
- The ability to manage changing priorities and keep a project moving
- Good communication skills and confidence dealing with clients, consultants and subcontractors
- A practical and hands-on approach to problem solving
- A strong focus on safety, quality and programme
