The Opportunity

Our client is a well-established national food manufacturer producing fresh products for leading retail and foodservice customers. They are looking for an experienced quality qualified to take ownership of food safety and quality at one of their production sites.

This is a senior site role for someone who is comfortable on the production floor and in the audit room. You will lead a small quality team and work alongside site operations every day, with support from the national technical function.

What You'll Be Doing

Leading site quality

- Leading, coaching and developing the site quality team.
- Chairing the site HACCP team and running the monthly quality meeting.
- Delivering food safety training on site and keeping training records up to date.
- Working closely with production leaders to resolve quality issues quickly and put effective corrective actions in place.

Audits and compliance

- Preparing for and hosting certification and customer audits.
- Running the internal audit program to schedule.
- Making sure calibration, verification and monitoring activities are completed on time.
- Reviewing product and environmental testing results and acting on any trends or non-conformances.





Specifications, suppliers and complaints

- Keeping product specifications and recipe documentation accurate and current.
- Managing the site's approved supplier program.
- Investigating customer and consumer complaints and product rejections through to close-out.

What You'll Bring

- A tertiary qualification in food science, food technology or a related discipline.
- At least three years in a quality role in food manufacturing. Experience with protein or meat products is highly regarded.
- Sound knowledge of HACCP and GFSI-benchmarked certification standards.
- Confidence interpreting data and explaining it to people at all levels.
- The ability to lead a team and influence production staff without direct authority.
- Sound judgement, good organisation and clear written communication.

Hours Monday to Friday, with occasional extra hours around audits.
