In the role of Senior Advisor (Governance) you will support the delivery of major infrastructure projects by coordinating governance, assurance and issues management activities. The role provides governance advice to project leadership, manages governance forums and secretariat functions, oversees project assurance processes, and prepares executive correspondence and decision‑making materials to support effective project oversight and informed decision‑making. The position also works closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure governance requirements, policies and assurance obligations are met.

Some of your responsibilities will include:

- Coordinate and manage project governance forums, including agendas, governance papers, minutes, action tracking and decision registers, ensuring effective and accountable decision‑making processes.
- Provide high‑quality governance advice, executive correspondence, briefing notes, submissions, funding proposals and governance papers to support project leadership and senior decision‑makers.
- Lead the planning and coordination of project assurance activities, including Queensland Treasury Gateway Reviews, TMR assurance processes, audits and monitoring of assurance recommendations and actions.
- Monitor and manage governance actions, issues, risks and approvals, ensuring matters are appropriately escalated and resolved through established governance pathways.
- Maintain governance frameworks, registers, reporting tools, templates and records to ensure compliance, transparency, auditability and alignment with corporate and legislative requirements.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with project teams, contractors, government agencies and stakeholders, providing governance coordination and translating complex technical and commercial information into concise advice for decision‑makers.

Requirements of the role:

- Demonstrated experience in project, program or corporate governance within a complex infrastructure,



government or major project environment, including the coordination of governance committees and decision‑making processes.
- Strong written communication and analytical skills, with proven ability to prepare high‑quality briefing notes, submissions, governance papers, executive correspondence and reports for senior stakeholders.
- Sound knowledge of governance frameworks, assurance processes, risk management principles and government accountability requirements, including the ability to interpret and apply policies, standards and legislative obligations.
- Experience coordinating assurance activities, audits, reviews or gateway processes, with the ability to monitor actions, manage competing priorities and ensure compliance with governance requirements.
- Highly developed stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams, contractors, government agencies and executive leadership groups.
- Robust organisational and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to analyse complex technical, commercial and project information, exercise sound judgement and provide practical, evidence‑based advice to support informed decision‑making.
