Our client is a leading US global trading institution, and is expanding its high-performing trade management middle office division in the Sydney CBD office. This institutional trading support team functions as a primary operational engine across the Australian and broader APAC markets, ensuring bulletproof risk management and process execution for some of the region's most sophisticated trading desks. In this role, you will act as a critical bridge between elite trading pods and global clearing networks, operating in a fast-paced environment where multi-asset precision is paramount.

Responsibilities

Multi-Asset Trade Management: Oversee the end-to-end processing of complex financial instruments, managing trade flows across OTC trading, equity derivatives, futures, and options.

Prime Brokerage Liaison: Maintain continuous, high-touch operational contact with prime brokers, clearing houses, and international custody agents to ensure seamless market connectivity.

Risk Mitigation & Reconciliations: Direct the daily validation of cash positions, transaction entries, and inventory levels, swiftly investigating and eliminating ledger discrepancies.

Desk & Stakeholder Advisory: Act as the primary operational partner for active trading desks, resolving execution queries and translating complex market events into clear administrative actions.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner dynamically with risk management, treasury, legal, and engineering teams to ensure regulatory compliance and robust systems performance.

Workflow Automation & Controls:

Identify operational vulnerabilities and introduce structural improvements, utilizing data-driven tools to minimize manual workflows.

Market Expansion & Readiness: Assist in structural preparedness and control design for expanding regional portfolios, including emerging energy derivatives and physical asset frameworks.

Ideal Background:

Institutional Experience: A minimum of 5+ years of dedicated middle-office or trade operations experience within a premier global investment bank, elite market maker, or sophisticated hedge fund environment.

Product Mastery: Advanced understanding of the derivative trade lifecycle, with proven expertise handling listed options, futures, and complex OTC/bilateral transactions.

Sector Familiarity: Prior exposure to, or a keen interest in, energy markets, global commodities, or cross-border APAC trading networks is highly desirable but not mandatory.

Technical Aptitude: A strong baseline understanding of business intelligence or scripting resources (such as standard automation frameworks, data querying languages, or macro scripts) to help scale internal controls.

Professional Resilience: Demonstrated ability to remain composed, analytical, and highly precise during periods of peak market volatility or tight settlement windows.

This is an exceptional opportunity to join a high-calibre global banking and trading environment that offers clear paths for internal mobility and unmatched exposure to complex, cross-border financial products. The firm promotes a cooperative, high-performance culture and provides a highly competitive institutional remuneration package.
