Position Overview: n

We are looking for an experienced ‘Civil Packages Lead’ to help delivery a major renewable and energy project, the Laceby Solar Farm (based in north east Victoria).

n

The Laceby Solar Farm integrates a 60 MW AC solar generation system with 240 MWh of battery energy storage, designed to deliver reliable, low-carbon power to the regional grid. Combining renewable generation and advanced storage to ensure firm, dispatchable clean energy, supporting grid stability and Australia’s energy transition.

Reporting to the Construction Manager, the Civil Package Lead will own the delivery of all civil infrastructure packages, acting as the on-site point of accountability for subcontractor delivery, design coordination, programme, quality requirements and construction priorities. across all civil packages.

Key Responsibilities: n

- Manage and direct civil subcontractors on site day-to-day, including work fronts,
n
- Lead and coordinate the day-to-day delivery of all civil construction activities across the project.
n
- Manage and direct the Civil Contractor, including work fronts, sequencing, priorities, productivity and interfaces with other construction disciplines.
n
- Coordinate delivery of clearing and grubbing, bulk earthworks, cut and fill, access roads, internal roads, drainage, hardstands, equipment benches,



foundations and associated civil infrastructure.
n
- Monitor civil works against the approved construction programme and identify emerging delays, constraints and opportunities for recovery.
n
- Work closely with the Construction Manager and project planning team to develop look-ahead programmes, sequencing and construction priorities.
n
- Coordinate survey requirements, set-out, verification and as-built information with the Site Surveyor.
n
- Review civil drawings, specifications and construction documentation and identify potential constructability issues before they impact site activities.
n
- Coordinate RFIs and technical queries with the Project Engineer, design team and Senior Civil Engineer as required.
n
- Ensure civil works are constructed in accordance with IFC drawings, specifications, inspection and test plans, project quality requirements and relevant Australian Standards.
n
- Coordinate civil interfaces with electrical, mechanical, piling, substation and BESS construction activities.
n
- Ensure completed civil work fronts are progressively inspected, accepted and handed over to downstream construction teams.
n
- Work closely with HSE and Environmental personnel to ensure civil activities comply with project safety requirements, environmental controls, erosion and sediment controls, permits and management plans.
n
- Participate in daily pre-starts, coordination meetings, construction meetings and subcontractor planning sessions.
n
- Verify subcontractor progress and completed quantities and provide input into progress assessments and payment reviews.
n
- Maintain accurate records of delays, design changes, site instructions, productivity issues and other events that may affect cost or programme.
n
- Provide regular progress,



programme, risk and construction updates to the Construction Manager.
n
- Promote a strong culture of safety, quality, accountability and collaboration across the civil construction team.
n

Key Skills, experience and qualifications: nn
- Degree in Civil Engineering, or equivalent.
n
- Proven experience managing civil works packages of a comparable scale ($30m+)
n
- Hands on experience with bulk earthworks, cut and full, roads, drainage,foundations, hardstands and general civil infrastructure.
n
- Solar farm, BESS, substation, or other renewable energy project experience highly regarded
n
- Sound understanding of civil design documentation, with the ability to identify and resolve design/constructability issues
n
- Strong stakeholder management across design teams, subcontractors, and other package leads
n
- Strong commitment to safety, environmental compliance and quality.
