About the role

You will be responsible for managing complex litigation and insolvency matters with a high degree of autonomy while working collaboratively with the Solicitors, Special Counsel and Directors. This is an outstanding opportunity for a commercially minded litigation lawyer looking to take the next step in their career, work alongside experienced Directors and contribute to the leadership and development of a successful and expanding national firm.

Key responsibilities

- Managing commercial litigation matters from commencement through to resolution
- Advising clients on dispute resolution strategies, commercial risk and litigation outcomes
- Conducting debt recovery and enforcement proceedings across various jurisdictions
- Acting for liquidators, trustees, administrators and receivers in insolvency-related matters
- Preparing and prosecuting statutory demands, winding up applications and bankruptcy proceedings
- Advising on enforcement strategies, securities enforcement and recovery actions
- Drafting pleadings, affidavits, applications, submissions and technical legal correspondence
- Appearing at mediations, settlement conferences and court hearings
- Briefing and instructing Counsel and expert witnesses
- Negotiating commercial settlements and delivering practical outcomes for clients

About you

- 5+ years' post-admission experience in commercial litigation, debt recovery and insolvency
- Admission to practice in Australia and a current Practising Certificate




- Demonstrated experience managing complex litigation matters with minimal supervision
- Experience acting in insolvency and restructuring matters, including corporate and personal insolvency
- Strong advocacy, negotiation and dispute resolution skills
- Excellent drafting and technical legal abilities
- Proven experience building and maintaining client relationships
- Experience mentoring junior lawyers and contributing to team development
- A pragmatic, commercially focused approach to legal problem-solving
- Strong organisational and matter management skills
