Description The Queensland Academy of Sport (QAS) is on a bold journey towards Brisbane 2032 and beyond. Following the extraordinary success of Queensland athletes at the recent Olympic and Paralympic Games, we are now focused on delivering even more medal-winning moments through to Los Angeles 2028 and our home Games in 2032.

This role will suit a qualified Sports Dietitian. This role requires the provision of nutrition support to categorised podium, developing and emerging athletes in the QAS Swimming program. Work will primarily be conducted from Gold Coast Aquatic Centre and other program locations on Gold Coast as required. You will also be responsible for developing strategies to support exceptional High-Performance outcomes.

Some Of The Responsibilities Will Include

- Design, coordinate and monitor a range of dietary interventions with the goal of improving the performance and health of all athletes, as well as provide relevant health and performance nutrition education to athletes/sports.
- Manage individual athlete supplement protocols and provide regular education updates to athletes to ensure they are aware and adhere to the NSO/QAS Supplement Policy.
- Undertake body composition assessments if indicated, and in accordance with QAS/NSO guidelines.




- Conduct initial nutritional screening using an agreed screening tool within one month of the athlete’s commencing in a QAS supported program.
- Contribute relevant information into Athlete plans to reflect Athlete’s performance and health goals.?
- If additional treatment outside of designated number of days is required, the Supplier is requested to be available to consult with QAS athletes at an agreed location, and within a reasonable time frame. Prior approval from QAS is required to establish whether this will be at the athlete or QAS expense. Uploading notes from such consultations is required into the AMS.
- Attend performance support meetings as agreed with the Head Coach and provide guidance around athlete health and proactive measures which aim to further improve athlete performance.?

Essential Requirements

- Relevant Tertiary Qualification
- First Aid Certificate
- Current Provide/Perform CPR
- Sports Medicine / Physio / Allied Health Degree




- Working with Children / Working with Vulnerable People Check
- ABN and current Public Liability & Indemnity Insurance
- Ethical supplier Threshold
- Bachelor of Nutrition and Dietetics from a Dietitians Australia (DA) accredited course
- Accredited Practicing Dietitian (DA)
- Accredited Sports Dietitian (SDA)
- Sports Dietitians Australia (SDA) Sports Nutrition Course or Tertiary course recognised by Sports Dietitians Australia (SDA)
- ISAK Accreditation
