At Advent One, we're building specialist technology squads that own customer outcomes from strategy through to delivery and ongoing support.

We're looking for a Squad Lead for our Distributed Hybrid Infrastructure practice. This squad supports a diverse customer base running mission critical infrastructure across both on-premises and cloud environments. Many of our customers have been with us for years and operate complex estates that blend modern cloud platforms with traditional enterprise technologies.

About the role

As Squad Lead, you'll report to the Head of Squads and be responsible for leading a team of infrastructure specialists delivering both managed services and project outcomes. You'll operate as a player-coach, providing technical leadership while helping the team develop, improve delivery practices and maintain exceptional customer outcomes.

This isn't a role where you'll spend all day in meetings. You'll remain close to the technology, support solution design, provide technical guidance and help the team tackle complex customer challenges.

You'll help customers manage and modernise complex hybrid environments spanning on-premises infrastructure and cloud platforms. From IBM AIX and Linux to Windows, enterprise storage and cloud services, you'll work with the technologies that keep large organisations running every day.

What you'll be doing

- Leading a squad of infrastructure engineers and specialists
- Managing delivery across managed services and project engagements
- Overseeing technical and delivery challenges as senior escalation point
- Supporting customers with architecture, strategy and roadmap discussions
- Building repeatable service offerings and operational standards




- Working with project managers and sales teams to align resources and priorities
- Coaching and developing engineers through regular mentoring and career development
- Driving continuous improvement, automation and AI-assisted delivery practices
- Contributing to forecasting, resource planning and commercial performance

About you You'll likely have experience leading infrastructure teams within a managed services provider (MSP), enterprise IT environment or systems integrator.

You'll bring:

- Strong infrastructure and operations experience across enterprise environments
- Experience supporting hybrid cloud and on-premises platforms
- A solid understanding of managed services delivery models
- Experience leading technical teams and developing engineering capability
- Strong stakeholder management and customer-facing skills
- The ability to balance operational support with project delivery
- Commercial awareness and an understanding of service profitability
- A passion for continuous improvement and operational excellence

Experience with IBM AIX, enterprise storage platforms, Linux, Windows Server, cloud platforms and / or large-scale infrastructure environments will be highly regarded. Why Advent One?
