NQ Estimating & Civil Services is seeking a Stabiliser Operator to join our team on a casual basis. This is an on-site position based in Cairns, QLD. As a Stabiliser Operator, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining stabilising equipment on construction sites, ensuring optimal performance and safety standards are met. This role is integral to the success of our construction projects, contributing directly to project timelines and the quality of work delivered.
Key responsibilities
- Operate stabilising equipment safely and efficiently in accordance with manufacturer specifications and site safety protocols
- Perform pre-operation and post-operation checks on stabilising equipment to ensure proper functioning
- Maintain accurate records of equipment operation, maintenance and any incidents
- Communicate effectively with site supervisors and other team members regarding equipment status and any operational issues
- Assist with the setup and positioning of stabilising equipment as required
- Comply with all relevant safety regulations, standards and site-specific requirements
- Conduct routine maintenance and cleaning of equipment to prolong its lifespan
- Report any equipment faults or safety concerns immediately to site management
What we're looking for
- Current and valid operating licence or certification for stabiliser equipment operation
- Proven experience as a Stabiliser Operator or similar plant and machinery operator role within the construction industry
- Demonstrated knowledge of safety protocols and procedures relevant to equipment operation
- Strong mechanical understanding and ability to perform basic troubleshooting
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work independently and take responsibility for equipment maintenance and safety
- Physical fitness and capability to work on active construction sites
- High attention to detail and commitment to maintaining safety standards
- Flexibility to work on a casual basis as required by project schedules
