About Rock Sugar
Rock Sugar is looking for experienced, energetic wait staff to join our team!

We’re a Thai fusion venue known for amazing food, delicious cocktails, and warm, attentive service. We also host a range of private functions in our event space (up to 30 pax), so we’re looking for someone who can confidently manage a section, or if events are booked to help coordinate these events on the day.

What’s on offer?

- 2–3 evening shifts per week

- Saturday availability is essential

- No late nights — 11pm finish at the latest

- Additional shifts and opportunities available for the right person

- Adaptable rostering to suit study, another job or other commitments

We understand that many of our team members are studying or working another job, so we do our best to accommodate scheduling requests wherever possible.

Typical roster

- Friday (optional): 6pm–10pm / 10:30pm

- Saturday (required): 6pm–10:30pm / 11pm

- Weeknight or Sunday (optional): 6pm–9:30pm

About you

Our ideal candidate is an experienced section waiter who is:

- Confident managing their own section

- Highly organised and able to multitask

- Calm and capable in a busy service





- Confident communicating with the kitchen and wider team

- Experienced in managing dietary requirements, particularly for larger groups

- Friendly, engaging and genuinely enjoys connecting with customers

- A strong team player with a positive attitude

- Reliable and professional, with a great eye for detail

We pride ourselves on providing kind, attentive and genuinely welcoming service, and our generous customer tips are a reflection of the experience our team creates.

Events experience is highly desirable, particularly experience coordinating functions or working with larger groups.

Your responsibilities

- Managing your own section throughout service

- Providing friendly, attentive customer service

- Taking orders and processing payments

- Running food and drinks

- Communicating clearly with the kitchen and bar

- Managing dietary requirements and special requests

- Assisting with the coordination and smooth running of private events

- Working collaboratively with the wider team

What you’ll need

- Previous experience managing a section — essential

- Current RSA certificate — essential

- Events or functions experience — highly desirable

- Strong communication and customer service skills

- A positive, team-focused attitude
